Growing up
Now that Abby's growing up, her vocabulary and speaking skills are getting better, which makes me pretty sad. She's speaking in full sentences which are actually intelligible most of the time. While I appreciate the ease in conversing with my child, I miss her made-up words she had. I think the saddest day for me was when she started calling her "Keepies" "Blankies". But she still has the best word still in use. She has always called fruit snacks "ya-yas". Don't really know why, but she has. And she still does! I'm going to be totally depressed when she realizes, after getting made fun of in first grade, that they're not really called ya-yas. But until then, she must never know.

I totally know what you mean. I was really sad when Zach stopped referring to milk as "ghm ghm" (this weird sound made in the back of his throat that isn't found in the English language) and started calling it milk. And Caitlin speaks like a pro but she still has a lot of sounds to work on so her speaking is so cute. I'll be so sad when she starts being able to say g's and k's.
I'm so excited for your knew baby. Do you think we'll see each other ever again? I miss you.
Crap, well there goes my lesson plan for tomorrow. It was going to be "What fruit snacks are really called" day.
And I'm thinking of deleting your comment on my braggy post. People who don't know Abby might actually believe you and think we're both terrible people. Come to think of it- any stranger who reads anything we write to each other would probably come to that conclusion...
